I don't really know to call them King... can anyone rightfully hold that claim? I will say, they are VERY good at what they do.
...And in Planetside you can do that. You can pay for as many weapons as you want, and upgrades are relatively cheap. If you don't want to buy skins, you don't have to.
"I know some people love them.. But I have little to no use for these indie developers.. Gee.. Your 2 man team can't get a dev kit when every major development team is after them.. Who would a thought? Lol.. "
Well why is it that indies have no problem securing dev kits for the PS4? You make it sound as if the indy devs themselves are the problem, and not Microsoft's asinine policies
drive club IS an arcade racer
They really won't. I've been playing PS2 since November and at level 50, have only spent maybe $15 on the game. If you want to be better in Planetside, it's just like any other FPS; you just have to be a better player. Weapons n such really just cater towards your desired playstyle.
How are they freeloaders in the first place? It's "Free to play." The idea is to entice people enough to shell out real money for in-game assets. What I'm saying is that you won't get new players if pay-to-win players dominate the servers, which begs the question, why go F2P in the first place?
Case in point: Battlefield Play4Free. The game is virtually unplayable for newcomers as the average player has already spend $25+ on better weapons and skill upgr...
Because it defeats the purpose of "free to play." If not paying is so detrimental to the developers, then they should have just released a full retail game. Having a free-to-play game lowers the barrier of entry for new players, but there also needs to be balance to keep them playing and not feel underpowered.
1) There are no perks, just weapon upgrades, and those are only available through the in-game currency.
2) Everyone has access to new weapons at the same time, and buying weapons doesn't net a player a true advantage over another. Buying a new weapon is almost always considered a "side-grade" instead of upgrade.
Planetside 2 is one of the few games that has a smart implementation of the F2P model in that its really never pay-2-win. Fans are upset because...
I wonder when we'll get the new continent hossin?
Not to mention, Planetside 2's F2P model is pretty well implemeneted in that paying players have no strict advantage over players that dont.
The fans and FGC specifically has been asking for it. Besides, fighting games usually have a long lifespan, SF especially. I wouldn't expect SFV on the horizon for at least another 3 years
Tehee :)
GT games do need improvement in the A.I department, no doubt about that. We'll see if PD's overhaul of the engine improves upon this in GT6. Meanwhile, I hope the new F1 game supports 60 frames this time around..
I beg to differ. The old playstation controller d-pads, (while no replacement for an arcade stick) are pretty darn good for fighters. There are some tournament players out there that still use their PS3 gamepad preferably over a stick. Heck, even I learned how to wave dash in Tekken using the pad.
For me, Lost Odyssey. Loved that game, wish there was a sequel.
I hope we get MGS4 :)
I don't get it... there was such a loud outcry against the policies of the X1 before the change, it's baffling to think there are those who actually want it back.
Gran Turismo is a driving simulator, first of all, and they make you drive slower cars first to get the basics. Understanding driving lines, under/oversteer, throttle control are essential before moving up the food chain. The vast majority of real racing drivers started their careers driving <40hp go-karts for hundreds of hours before even moving up to what we would call, a low-powered RWD car.
If it doesn't suit your taste, then yeah maybe you shouldn't be playing...
Probably just finishing up Beyond 2 Souls
So they're not even going to try?
Yes its called Team Battle...fighting games including DOA have been doing this for years.
